Expression Engine 1.6 Arrived

23, June, 2007

Maybe I’m a little late to the party but Expression Engine 1.6 has just been released.  If you are not aware of Expression Engine then I would recommend heading over to their site and checking it out, basicly it is a pretty powerful and comprehensive content management system.  I have just recently started using it to power that backend of this site and I am starting to get to grips with using it, albeit, just scratching the surface.

The main part of this release seems to be the addition of an add on to handle multiple sites from one installation.  This seems to be pretty well received as it appears that most people who use Expression Engine are designers and developers who handle their clients sites.  For me personally this release will not benefit me that much as I am still learning how to use the system, so for the moment I will stick with the basics.

It does seem that the people over at Ellis labs do listen to their customer base and add the features that they require which is always a good thing.  For the moment I have not got round to updating but I think I should have the new version installed over the weekend, just to see what new.
